Promoting the ‘invisible climate solution’

Using industrial energy more efficiently is a powerful and cost effective way to address climate change now, but it’s also one of the least recognized. To help draw more attention to this doable solution, we’ve been working with UNIDO’s Industrial Energy Accelerator since early 2019.

 

We provide a full suite of strategic communications support. We started by developing the Accelerator’s communications strategy and brand and built their website. Throughout 2019 we created a wide range of targeted content including news articles, factsheets, case studies, videos, infographics, social cards and reports. On a day to day basis we manage their social media accounts and email outreach efforts. Building on key moments in 2019 we drafted and pitched two opinion editorial pieces and other stories published by key partners such as the Global Environment Facility and SEforALL.

 

In 2020 we produced the Energy Efficiency Solutions Series, which cover five key energy efficiency solutions. Each Kit contains a catchy brochure and infographic, an explainer video and a case study showcasing how a particular company was successful in adopting a given technology. All these products were designed to inspire and enable efficiency practitioners to take the first step towards implementing the different energy efficiency technologies or promote them amongst peers and decision makers.

 

As a result, the Accelerator has gained greater visibility and support, including funding, to improve industrial energy efficiency in a growing number of countries.
