C4D to advance livelihoods and recovery efforts in Syria

UNDP

In late 2018 we helped UNDP in Syria conduct formative research for two Communications for Development (C4D) interventions that would help advance the components of its Livelihoods and Economic Recovery Strategy 2018-2020 aimed at supporting women’s empowerment and the social inclusion of People Living with Disabilities (PWDs).

The assignment involved extensive research and a mission to Syria in February 2019 during which we continued the research on the ground and organized a series of focus group discussions with women and PWDs. In-country, we also conducted a series of learning sessions on C4D tailored to the Syrian context with relevant examples of successful interventions either in the region or designed to address issues of participation and inclusion.
